No, we wanted for everyone to be able to get value out Wayports without requiring a paid plan. It is free to download and use, so you can come out and socialize, find a spot to work from and plan your next moves.

A paid plan is where you would find more features, but it is not necessary to make your first impact on the platform.

Yes! This is what we do and the way in which we intend this to work.

Wayports is like your email application. You can leave it running, focus on a different task using different software, and go back to it when you need it.

Since you can still hear sounds, and make yourself available or not, this offers a great mix between synchronous and asynchronous work tasks.

Not yet. The reason is that we first build the desktop experience, where most hardware resources are found and where our users do most of their work.

Mobility remains a target, but not a priority, as commuting to work becomes rare and traveling is greatly reduced.

There is now an emphasis on the quiet work space at home, where there is usually a desk, a big screen and plenty of processing power for amazing collaboration experiences.

This is why Wayports is available for macOS and Windows.

The minimum hardware requirements to run Wayports effectively are usually met by hardware that was popular in 2009:

CPU: 1.8 Ghz Intel core i5
Memory: 8GB RAM
Integrated graphics with DX11
Storage: 3GB

In addition to this, you will need a reliable Internet connection, preferably upwards of 15Mbps for download and 7Mbps for upload.

For the free plan, included in all new accounts, it is set to 2MB per file.

This is increased to 10MB in the paid plans.

For larger files we suggest loading a URL into the interactive screen instead. This makes for a faster, more efficient experience.
